We just got back from the first field trip, visiting our German friends and colleagues in Ingelfingen (Baden-Württemberg) and Göttingen (Lower Saxony). With our bags heavy with rock samples, our minds blown with all the fantastic impressions from the field and our hearts filled with the lingering sensation of the warm welcome we received, we are now eager to jump headfirst into the lab and literature. Buckle up!

Our proposal won the Emerging Field Grant 2019, called for by the Faculty of Earth Sciences, Geography and Astronomy (Fakultät für Geowissenschafte, Geographie und Astronomie - FGGA)! We are therefore able to appoint one PhD student for four years to work on our fascinating bivalve bioherms.
